Sunset Canyon Veterinary Clinic has been my vet since 2001 and I couldn't be happier. The facilities are clean, modern and extensive, and they can handle anything from pet animals to livestock. The first thing you'll notice when you walk in the door is that, unlike most vets, there are 4-5 people there to greet you. The staff are exceptionally friendly and even though they in-process you quickly, they take the time to chat with you in that small-town Drippin' manner. My vet there over the years has been Dr. Glen Portie, and I'm particularly impressed with him. It seems that a lot of doctors nowadays (both vets and personal physicians) tend to zip into the examination room, go over the patient real quick, throw some medication at the problem, then zip out as quickly as they appeared. Usually the only thing that gets treated is the symptoms. Not so with Dr. Portie. He takes the time to get to know you and your pet, and he digs hard to get at the root of the problem. Once he gets to the source, he never tells you what to do- he gives you all your options and lets you decide what treatment is best for your pet.
